Vai Raja Vai (2015) Tamil Movie Review

Gautham Karthik, the hero, is born smiling and has ESP powers. In the work of his school days, Gautham goes on to foretell plenty of things that are about to happen and his dad, played by director Vasanth, is perturbed about it. Vasanth then extracts a promise from Gautham not to reveal his predictions. Later, the small boy grows up and lands in a job. By chance, they predicts something at office which catches the attention of those around him. There begins the issues for the youngster as they gets caught with a group of gamblers. How they manages to come out of their clutches forms the remainder of the story.

Gautham Karthik fits the bill as a middle-class youngster. And they has proved his mettle as an actor in the role of a youngster with ESP powers. Priya Anand plays his love-interest. Vivek and Sathish's comedy has worked out well. Daniel Balaji's role is lovely while Taapsee has nothing much to do.

Vai Raja Vai (2015) Tamil Movie Review

The voice-over that tells Gautham and Priya's love is fascinating but it is lengthy to check the patience of the audiences. The build-up given for Taapsee's role has no weightage.

Velraj's camera work is a major and for the film. They has proved his talents in the scenes shot at the casino. Of all the songs scored by Yuvan, song manages to linger in our minds. The BGM is ok. When Dhanush makes his appearance as Kokki Kumar, the whole theater erupts with applause. The way the film ended with Kokki Kumar's character is a lovely suggestion.
